Commercial Insurance Account Executive

O’Connor Insurance Associates is seeking an top notch experienced Commercial Lines Account Executive. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining solid customer relationships by handling customer inquiries and concerns with speed and professionalism. The candidate will interact daily with customers, insurance carriers, and fellow employees while conducting specific service and marketing activities. This role will be the right hand person of the Commercial Lines Insurance producer and a key player in taking our agency to the next level.

The ideal candidate must have insurance industry experiencestrong attention to detail, and superior customer service skills. The candidate must also have excellent organizational, communication, and problem solving skills. Responsibilities
The candidate must:

  • Provide service to existing clients related to updating policies, providing quotes, answering questions and providing documentation.
  • Service all regular and after-hour claims.
  • Set appointments and/or client calls to support producer, discuss existing policies, review liability limits and exposures, explore other coverage needs, evaluate replacement costs, round out accounts, and bind renewals.
  • Work with new clients or support Producer in an effort to understand their needs, gather necessary data, research policy options, present options, finalize and bind new coverage, cancel old policies, and negotiate with carriers when necessary.
  • Manage renewal process including reviewing price fluctuations, remarketing, working closely with producer to recommend coverages and renew policies.
  • Collaborate with team members, mentor staff, provide expertise and answer questions, and participate in formal and informal meetings as needed.
  • Provide service to clients with excess and surplus policies including quote and issue new policies as well as renew existing policies.
  • Participate in agency marketing activities, meet with carriers, attend CE sessions and other agency functions.
  • Perform administrative duties as needed such as answering phones, opening mail, and greeting visitors.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
The candidate will:

  • Hold the insurance license required by your state and have a minimum of seven-ten years commercial lines/business insurance account management experience.
  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree or comparable work experience.
  • CIC designation, a plus
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of insurance products and usages, rating procedures, underwriting procedures, coverages, and industry operations to effectively manage, maintain, and write assigned client and prospects.
  • Demonstrate strong technology and computer proficiency skills and knowledge.  Our agency relies heavily on technology products including but not limited to Office 365, DocuSign and Applied Epic.  It is imperative that you have more than a working knowledge of the Office products and have experience working in an agency management system.
  • Demonstrate strong customer focus and an excellent phone manner; display strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess initiative, can do attitude and able to perform at a high level with little supervision.
  • Possess excellent math and reading skills to accurately perform simple calculations.
  • Have the ability and tact to handle difficult customer phone calls and solve complex problems without direct supervision.
  • Have strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, organization, and follow up skills.
  • Have excellent time management skills with a personal accountability mindset.

Personal & Commercial Insurance Customer Service Representative

The candidate will interact daily with customers, insurance carriers, and fellow employees while conducting specific service, marketing and administrative activities.

The candidate must also have excellent organizational, communication, and problem solving skills. Responsibilities
The candidate must:

  • Perform administrative duties such as answering phones, opening/scanning mail, greeting visitors, and keeping the office supplies stocked.
  • Assist clients with claims from first notice of loss through claim settlement following agency procedures.
  • Provide service to existing clients related to billing questions, endorsements, updating policies, answering questions and providing documentation.
  • Manage day-to day workflow of agency marketing activities including the agency referral program, new client on-boarding, and various other agency functions.
  • Facilitate personal & commercial lines download within Agency Management System including but not limited to attaching orphans, verifying information for accuracy, completing invoices as necessary
  • Assists with renewal process including pulling reports, sending renewal review notices to clients, processing reviews returned and mailing renewal policies.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
  • Process new personal and commercial applications ensuring they are issued in a timely and accurate manner and following the agency processes and procedures to on-board new clients.
  • Actively solicit increases in coverage or rounding out accounts at every service contact.
  • Maintain records of customer interactions and transactions, recording details of inquiries, comments, and actions taken in agency management system.
Requirements
The candidate will:

  • Hold a North Carolina agent property and casualty license and have a minimum of two years personal and or commercial insurance experience.
  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree or comparable work experience.
